How can scar camouflage help me?
Skin or Scar Camouflage is a Paramedical Tattooing procedure which offers a way to help disguise flat white scars. It involves implanting skin toned pigments into the scar tissue that is lacking in colour. The scar camouflage tattoo blends with the healthy skin around it resulting in less attention to the scar. For many cosmetic tattooing is the only longterm answer.
How's it done?
Scar Camouflage is a unpredictable process as scar tissue is damaged skin which means that it does not react as normal skin would. Often 2-3 and sometimes more sessions are required.
Pigment is matched to the healthy skin tone and implanted into the scar tissue with a digital state-of-the-art hand piece.
If you are a suitable candidate for scar camouflage tattooing a spot test will be carried out as a first step in order to achieve the closest skin tone match and best possible result.
With our technique results are long lasting and trauma is kept to a minimum.
Does it look natural?
Renée’s creative expertise and up to date knowledge of pigment implantation will always result in a natural and realistic enhancement.
Is it painful?
To greatly reduce any discomfort, we numb the procedure location with very effective topical anaesthetic. Most people will feel nothing at all, while a few feel a slight, prickly sensation. Also, the needles we use are so fine that trauma is kept to an absolute minimum and there is no bleeding.
Is it safe?
An in-depth consultation will be carried out before any treatment.

How does Scar Camouflage Work?
Post surgery scars like face lift scars which are usually narrow and relatively flat can benefit from skin camouflage tattooing. Adding colour where the natural pigment has been lost in the scar tissue results to a less visible scar. The effect is as if you have applied cosmetics however a skin camouflage tattoo or ‘cosmetic tattoo’ is more permanent.
Not all scars can be successfully camouflaged or are suitable for treatment. Reviewed upon a case by case basis.
