Fast Questions and Answers
What is an Areola Tattoo?
Areola tattoo, often referred to as areola restoration, is a paramedical tattoo procedure used after breast reconstruction and augmentation surgeries to complete the natural appearance of the breast. The procedure is a medical tattoo process of advanced micropigmentation, which can create a natural nipple and areola or correct the shape size and colour of the nipple and areola area.
Can I darken my areolas?
Fading of the areola is a common change that can affect your breasts over time. Areola micropigmentation which is cosmetic tattooing is a fantastic solution for anyone who simply has irregular or pale areolas lacking definition. The colour can be enhanced or restored and balance and symmetry improved with the most realistic natural areola results.
Do areola tattoos hurt?
To greatly reduce any discomfort, we numb the procedure location with very effective topical anaesthetic. Most people will feel nothing at all, while a few feel a slight, prickly sensation. Also, the needles we use are so fine that trauma is kept to an absolute minimum and there is no bleeding.
How long does it last?
The final results will last between 1 and 3 years and sometimes longer.
Is there any downtime?
Expect some tenderness, sterile dressing will be applied, which you wear under your clothes to prevent friction. Care must be taken to keep the area clean and dry for the following days after treatment. Other than that, you can continue with your schedule as you normally would with no down time.
Detailed aftercare instructions will be given specific to each treatment.
