Celebrating 17 Years of Micropigmentation in Spitalfields

17 Years of Expert Micropigmentation in Spitalfields: Natural, Bespoke Results for Every Client

By Renée – Founder & Lead Practitioner, The Dermatography Clinic, Spitalfields, London

This July marked a very special milestone for me: 17 years specialising in the art of Dermatography, also known as Micropigmentation, in Spitalfields, London. Over the years, I’ve dedicated myself to perfecting my craft, and my journey has been a fusion of learning, growth, and transformation. I’ve witnessed the profound impact my work has on my clients’ lives, which continues to inspire my commitment to making a positive difference in their journeys. I recognise the serious nature of my work and the trust people place in me, and I feel immense gratitude for my amazing customers.

Back in 2008, I began this journey with a simple but clear aim — to express my vision of what I believe micropigmentation should be through the art of Dermatography, staying true to best practices to achieve the most natural and longest-lasting results, share the many benefits of permanent cosmetics, and to offer a highly bespoke service tailored to each client.  I strive to produce work that enhances, restores, and empowers, without ever looking “tattooed.”

This philosophy has shaped everything I do. From the beginning, I learnt that Micropigmentation, whether aesthetic or medical, is deeply personal. It touches people’s confidence, self-image, and in many cases, their healing. As an artist, I have always believed in subtlety — creating results that look natural, balanced, and in harmony with each person’s features.

Over the years, I have specialised in both aesthetic micropigmentation (brows, eyeliner, lips) and medical micropigmentation (areola restoration, scar camouflage, treatments for alopecia and hair loss). Each area of my work has taught me something unique. Some clients come in seeking a small enhancement to feel more polished day to day; others are here for restorative work that carries a much deeper meaning. Whatever the reason, I treat each client with the same care, respect, and commitment to excellence.

Being based in my beautiful historic Spitalfields clinic, in East London, where I was born and where my father spent his lifetime in the very same space, has been a gift in itself. This area is rich in culture, history, and diversity, and I’ve been fortunate to welcome people from all walks of life into my clinic. I’ve had the privilege of working with clients not only from London and across the UK, but also from all over the world. It’s always humbling when someone travels a long distance to see me, and it reminds me never to take my craft or my clients’ trust for granted.

Looking back over these 17 years, I feel immense gratitude. I’ve grown, learned, and refined my practice constantly — but what has always remained constant is my commitment to natural results and a personal approach. I never wanted my work to look harsh, heavy, or “tattooed.” Instead, my goal has always been to create results that simply look like the best version of you.

Grateful to Clients from London, Across the UK, and Around the World

To all my clients — past, present, and future — thank you. Your trust and loyalty have allowed me to build not just a business, but a career I love. You have given me confidence, inspired me, and motivated me to keep evolving as an artist and professional.

Seventeen years is a milestone, but I still feel like the journey is only just beginning. Micropigmentation is constantly evolving, and I remain committed to learning, growing, and offering the very best for those who choose to put their confidence in my hands, one client at a time.
